"In Fall 2002, I was asked to come up with a concept for one of Clear Channel's Los Angeles Radio Stations. KLAC AM 570 had been an old-fashioned Adult Standards station until September 11, 2001. They switched to talk. Like L.A. needed ANOTHER talk station. Not!

"So it's Fall 2002, Rod Stewart is releasing his first Great American Songbook CD. I ask Jazz/Standards singer Steve Tyrell to be The Voice of what would become Fabulous 570 KLAC. Then Bob Weil, VP/Promotion from Reprise Records came to my office at KIIS-FM to play for me a new kid whose debut album would be released soon. It was Michael Buble.

"Fast forward to late February or early March 2003, Bob brought Michael in to the station for a Martini in the Morning interview. From that time, we were convinced Michael Buble would not only be a star, but would join other young, contemporary artists bringing this timeless music to a whole new generation... Baby-Boomers like me, and an even younger audience as well."
